"This is more like a mini butcher's block than a cutting board. Other uses: self defense weapon, kevlar body armor replacement, weighted blanket, and kettlebell. In actually cooking use, it's SOLID. Unlike thinner cutting boards that might slide as you prep and handle your foods, this solid wood thicc boi doesn't budge at bit. I'm not a physicist, but the weight also seems to distribute the force of my knifework more evenly. The grain is smooth and they even hooked us up with some food grade wood balm to maintain the surface. Cons: If it wasn't made clear, this is a heavy cutting board. It's around 7lbs or 93% of our cat. So probably not recommended for your grandparents. But that's seems to be on the lighter end for butcher block cutting boards. Pros: Total home defense. Looks, feels, and functions great."
